The great day has come. Most of the Sims are ready for mesh. Most users are not. It is now high time for a viewer change. In 2 weeks Firestorm shall be finally able to show mesh, until then you have to use the V2 or Kirsten's Viewer.
On friday SLC offered the the first mesh clothing:
Well, it's not great. but sufficient for first tests. The trousers fits perfectly to the movements, but unfortunately you can not change it to fit the shape. So I had several "standard sizes" in my folder but not one fit perfectly. Also, I had to wear the included alpha-layer. If you see an avatar soon like that, it is NOT the emperor's new clothes (hahaha):
Visually much more enjoyable are the mesh scuptures of Claudia222 Jewell. She has created spectacular works in mesh, that it takes your breath away. Look for yourself:
On top of the mesh works you will see a huge installation by Claudia, which is not built with mesh. I have long waited for an opportunity to introduce you one of the best builders in SL. Her work is unlike any other, of exceptional beauty and highly erotic. Fly up and enjoy the beautiful works. You can sit on some insects and fly with them. Enjoy this dream world!
Here a tip: If your viewer is not ready for mesh but you want to see Claudia's Installation, you see at the landing point a huge dark egg instead of the sculpture. Cam in to get the TP. From there you can fly up.

Cultivated shudder: Delicatessen Petrified
For those who does not know the movie Delicatessen: It tells of a time when food is scarce and a butcher slaughts always newly hired janitors to turn them into "delicacies". The surreal film is full of bizarre characters. No wonder not that the beautiful sim generates on closer inspection a light dread. Skulls floating in the bay .... or look under the boat;) And petriefied seems to be frozen here, which explains the quietness and the mist on this place. Some of the installations you can reach only by flying, but they are worth it!

As entertaining as can be art: Slightly Twisted
"Slightly Twisted" and "Ravens Mist", great namea for 2 sims, which present in a beautiful environment a surreal dream world. The unusual colors have me particularly excited. At the landing point are TPs to different skyboxes. Some great SL artists have worked together with an excellent result.

Consulting in SL: Tarot Readings
At Dark Moon I discovered my first Tarot deck in SL, In RL I have done readings for over 20 years and am always amazed how accurate the information is. It works very good in SL. I have my own SL Tarot deck and have already done readings here! During my research for psychological support, I discovered that, of course, not everyone is in need of a therapist, but card readings are very very popular in SL. I got in touch with some readers.
My first interview was with Escarius Luga. For years he has done readings with Lenormand cards in rl. In SL, he does the same. He has many regular customers, Some even log in only for consultations. Escarius, like many consultants, prefer voice readings. We agreed that it is easier to speak and express yourself during the reading than to type each thought..
The issues Escarius addresses are RL as well as SL concerns. At the end it is about the person behind the computer which gets a reading. For him the cards have been very lucky! A few months ago Robinia Pearl let him read her cards, and not long after the reading they became a couple! Robinia reads the tarot cards, too. She does it for herself and family. Escarius does his readings professionally for clients but does not read for himself nor his family. I myself am not so strict, but we agreed that it can be difficult to objectively to read for yourself or people close to you. Robinia has found that people think that readers with strong intuition still are seen as spooky and scarey. . What I have found that people are not sure they want to know what the cards may say for them.
I also talked about it with my friends Banba Muircastle and Zeedee Bellic who are also psychics. And they are not spooky or scary at all! We do readings for each other. Both of them are so clear in their interpretations when they do my readings! I experienced that we learn even more to read others minds in Second Life.
Banba in rl is a successful tarot reader, but holds back in SL. Clients find her anyway. Zeedee does not need to use cards to give a readings, but finds them helpful for quick picture of an individual's situation. Together with her clients she discovers ( with much empathy) the solution paths. Of course Zeedee and Banba also have many regular customers, have professional ethics and are great people.
Again and again you stand in front of life situations, where a neutral support can be helpful. Card readers are more and more popular, even in SL.

Golden Elven World: Dark Moon
Dark Moon is one of the most romantic sims with a very unique vegetation. At the landing point you get a flying bubble which you can rez and sit on it as soon as you exit the cave. Remember to accept the Windlight settings. There is also a TP system that takes you to special places, including a meditation cave with great sound bowls and floating islands with a tarot deck. That was the first time I've seen cards in SL. I write about them in the next chapter. Dark Moon has so many charming corners, one discovers again and again new places. I was thrilled by the wishing well. My wish for huge wealth shall be fulfilled ^^

Romantic dreamworld: Daytime Dreams
A folded chessboard spreads out an interesting and varied world, where the works of various builders gets a very different meaning as in other presentations. Below the falling checkerboard cubes you can find a TP door that takes you on a surreal journey with interesting ideas in the skyboxes.

With built-in pink glasses: HuMaNoiD
Some sims like to invite you to relax and just enjoy. HuManoiD is one of these delightful places. The Windlight Settings change your world into a soft
pink dream with little spots to relax and chat. The doors at the landing point are the way to different skyboxes, which are visually and musically a little trip around the world. So necessarily turn on the sound.

The most beautiful venue in SL: The Rose Theatre
Were you once in one of the great temples of culture? Theater des Westens, Berlin; Semperoper, Dresden; Opera, Paris; La Scala, Milano; Carnegie Hall, New York ..... The list could be long. When I walk into those buildings, I feel a vibration. The great artists, beautiful clothes, the famous people who were already here as a guest. In a special way one gets rid of everyday life. I get the same feeling in he Rose Theatre in SL! Even the foyer is breathtaking when you see beauty and perfection in every detail. The Rose Theatre hosts a theater, a ballroom, several celebration halls, a gallery and a cinema. In each venue there are many events that are held such as concerts, fashion shows, performances and private parties. The opposite building, the Angel Manor is just as worth seeing, as well as the fantastic outdoor facilities. From the basement of the Manor you can make a nice boat ride around the two sims.

Democracy in the arts: UWA
I've reported several times about places at the UWA (University of Western Australia). There is always so much to see and learn that one hardly can cover with a visit. Today I want to present the monthly artist contest in 3D art. Through September 3rd, 62 new art works can be seen. I'm excited again and again with the incredible wealth of ideas. You can help determine the monthly winner. In front of each work is a sign. If you click on it, you can assign 1 to 3 points for your favorites and you can vote for as many works as you want. On Sunday, September 4th, at 6 PM SLT the winner will be announced. A new show will be set up for your enjoyment. It will also be announced in this blog, who has won: http://uwainsl.blogspot.com. Behind a transparent wall are winning works of the previous contests. So many things to see, I could not stop to take photos.
