Yesterday was the fashion show of Meena, the
newest line of Trill
Zapatero. The fashion is inspired by Afghan costumes.
Trill writes „The style of
clothes is 'Afghanistan Bohemian'. It is a hybrid of traditional Afghan styles
and western styles of clothes. Traditional
Afghan styles have a lot of variety due to the many ethnic groups represented
in Afghanistan,
as well as it’s historic place on the ancient silk road and the influences of
the various cultures that have passed through this desert country. Tajik,
Uzbek, Kyrgyz, Kuchi nomad, Indian, Turkish and Persian styles are all
influencing factors in the style of traditional Afghan clothes.”
After the show Trill rezzed the shop. The prices are more than
reasonable and all sales are donated to RAWA, the Revolutionary Association of
the Women of Afghanistan. The shop is part of the Museum, which is worth a visit.
