Art India Gallery is happy to host Haveit Neox' latest work which deals with shrinking resources worldwide:
Haveit Neox about his work:
What if our physical world shrunk in proportion to the resources we drain from it?
We deplete resources all across the globe, yet in our homes we may feel few repercussions. Though we don’t actually visit the oil spills, the cleared forests, or the mines, let’s imagine how it would appear, were our everyday life reflected proportionately to the current depletion. If our bedroom walls were to shrink at the same percentage as the forests or the extinction of species for instance, how high exactly would our walls become?
In my exhibit, I invite visitors into the miniature world we are in the process of creating. Abundance is shortly to become a historic commodity. A powerfully dangerous monster is being set in motion. Do we simply suppose the scientists can slay such a creature once we create it? Though we cannot cure the common cold, somehow we believe we will be able to cure an ailing planet.
Our disproportionate appetite for resources makes it clear that our progress, and therefore our goal, will succumb to a miniature plan. We will eventually come to realize that the planet's current ecosystems are being damaged to a point where we may not be able to save them. Where does that leave us when we become so small?

More from THE INTERIM at LEA
To much is happening in that short month at the Interim and you should take note of it before it is gone by end of month. I blogged about:
Haveit Neox: http://quanlavender.blogspot.de/2014/01/paper-observatory-become-movie-star-at.html
Asmita Duranjaya: http://quanlavender.blogspot.de/2014/01/live-electronic-concert-today-tales-of.html
Fuschia Nightfire: http://quanlavender.blogspot.de/2014/01/gallery-hopping_20.html /scroll down)
But I saw that I have no time to cover them one by one. So here a small bundle of INTERIM sims for you to see what to expect:
LEA12 - Finn Lanzius
It's so sad that builds and artworks usually are gone forever once the exhibition is finished. Finn rezzed a lot older works and I was glad so see them again or for the first time. Fun to explore!
His work "Evening Shore - A Living Painting" has been awarded.
Taxi: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LEA12/128/128/22
LEA13 - Mary Wickentower
This place is dedicated to a particle collection. I loved every single piece. Don't miss the drive in cimema to watch Mary's particle machinima.
The exhibiton ends with a highlight, which you should note in your calendar: An amazing performance of love and light by the Changhigh Sisters Particle Show at The Wonderful World of Particles, an installation in celebration of Particles brought to you by Team Wickentower, via a LEA full sim grant to Mary Wickentower.
Performance Friday , January 31- 12 noon PM SLT at The Wonderful World of Particles

LEA14 - Ferd Frederix
This is a strong memory of my childhood. I love to walk into a birds swarm and to see them flying away just because of me. Mayne Ferd has the same good feelings. He created swarms in SL that fly away and he calls his installation "The Art of Birding". Absolutely enchanting!
Taxi: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LEA14/137/111/41
LEA15 - Natascha Randt
Natascha loves everything that flies, swims or drives in SL as I learned from the header of her blog. Of course she rezzed her huge collection and named the installation: "To aviators of all generations". I am not that interested in vehicles, so I may be excused that I felt in love with the plane in leo/pink look. :D
Btw. everyone is allowed to rez and drive or fly own vehicles (of course with autoreturn).

Double Launch: Love to Decorate and Gallery Shop
Tomorrow Thursday, January 23rd is a special day. It is the launch of a new bi-monthly magazine published by Editorial Clarity-Flux in Second Life:
My contribution to the magazine is a collection of 12 handpicked art pieces for each issue. During my research I was fast convinced that after seeing the photo in the magazine a piece has to be watched inworld To make it comfortable for our readers the easiest way would be an exhibition. As curator of Art India Gallery I decided to have a Gallery Shop here.
The well known artist Haveit Neox built a wonderful shop which became a beautiful addition to the Shekhavati, India sim. Find works by Alia Baroque, Bonafidenutts Aries, Dizzy Banjo/Eshi Otawara, LeMelonrouge Onyett, Lilianna Clarity, Milly Sharple, Paco Pooley, RAG Randt, Rebeca Bashly, Rodriguez Munro and Spooky Mistwallow. Not all consider themselves as artists but believe me, they are. The exhibition will stay for 2 months and then be replaced by the collection for the next magazine.
Editorial Clarity-Flux saw the second part of the gallery shop, the FUSE lamp collection by Trill Zapatero and loved them that much that he took photos for the first LTD too.
The opening and the launch of the LTD magazine are a good reason to have a party! You are cordially invited to join us at 1 PM SLT. DeceptionsDigital (DD) will play her excellent electronic tunes.

The Infinity Space - Opening and Live Concert
Betty Tureaud is a restless builder. Her latest installation "The Infinity Space" is what the name is promising. She use several optical illusions to make the impression perfect.
Betty invited me a few days ago to test her new cool invitation system with automatic teleport. I just had to click yes.
The impression at this space is so real that the ride on the pyramides made me almost seasick. I am looking forward to the opening event as usually with a live concert by Ultraviolet Alter. Since it will be as usually full you should appear early.

Boudoir
Walhalla jewelry set by Kunglers |
A question to all female readers: Do you know that too? You meet someone and one day you come closer and he says "I have a nice bed with a zillionandtwentyfive animations!" And you yell "Nooooo, please not! I have a nice bed!" Because you know that his bed may have the better animations but most likely not a single prim of good design. Usually men are more focused on technical details while women have more the decoration in mind.
Beautiful B&W Bedroom Set by eXplicite for Sexxx Sells nostalgic chandelier by floorplan for Collabor88, Era Kilim Rug 4 by :FANATIK HOME:, Hammars Stuga by Post |

Dear designers of adult toys, I fear you often forget that at the end always the women make the descisions when it comes to interior. You may sell well, but that does not mean you could not sell more with better design and textures.
Drawers Mosaic by :KR: Home, Mirror part of the bedroom set; FUSE Copper spring apple lamp by Trill Zapatero; Black Velvet Cat Armchair by Boudoir; Round Brown Ottoman by Savoir Vivre for Sexxx Sells |
So my mission at Sexxx Sells Expo was to dig for items that could be part of a nice interior. You see the results here. My favorite is the sofa. It has a large menu with countless combinations of colors. Every single part can be colored differently. I choose white with brown seams and nobody would expect the huge menu of animations ;)

Sanskar
The word sanskar means culture. Indian artist Ranadeep uses fractals to give us insight in the Indian culture, especially the spiritual tradition. Below every image is a notecard giver with information. Beautiful and interesting.
As the exbtion is at Paris METRO, the visitors can enjoy a gift created with the artists textures. Paris METRO owner and designer made a beautiful Sari and for the males an Indian jacket.
I took the photo of course at Shekhavati sim, the home of Art India Gallery where we just placed a new market stand.

Fuschia's Collection
Honestly I am a bit jealous. As many in the art world, I have a collection of pieces which usually have a sad place in my inventory. Now and then I change the artworks at my home or place them at Art India but there are never enough prims for all. Fuschia Nightfire did the right thing with her LEA sim for the Interim: Sh epulled out her art collection. Thta is not only interesting, it is a flash light on 6 years of art history in Second Life.

Tourist in Another's Reality
Nitrglobus Gallery again proves a good hand with the choice of artists. Isa Messioptra and Serene Footman are very skilled SL photographers. I was again flashed by the high level of SL photography today.
Isa Messioptra wrote about the title of the exhibition that it is based ..on a quote from Sonia Sontag "The camera makes everyone a tourist in other people's reality, and eventually in one's own." We feel that this is a fitting description not just of our work together but also our relationship that came to be in the process. Live Electronic Concert Today @ Tales of the Future
As stated before it is fantastic to see the creativity of the artists during the month of the Interim event at LEA. Asmita Duranjaya built an installtion in cooperation with the German science fiction author and composer maikelkay (Michael K. Iwoleit in RL).
The installation plays in different stages with ambient sounds. So have media enabled and follow the provided internet links while exploring the works.
After the well visited reading yesterday, today will be another event highlight. maikelkay will perform live electronic tunes accompanied by a particle show by Asmita Duranjaya. Not to be missed!

SEXXX SELLS: Succubus + Incubus
Incubus Slave Avatar by Niekra's Dreams for Sexxx Sells Aurora Elven Arches, Fountain and Stone Bench by Atelier Visconti for The Garden |
The good side of a bloggers life that we see and get creations before the public has the chance. So the last days I was checking items that will be sold exclusively at the Sexxx Sells expo that opened today. You know, I rarely blog fashion, but of course curiosity made me checking the items too and it was inteesting.
Taken at Leroy |
While Scatter more than once commented with "ohhhh" or "wooow" I often just could say "I never would wear that." It is interesting how different the definition of "looking sexy" is and it proved why street whores wear what they wear ;) So if you are a fan of any kind of kinky clothes and attachments like big boobs and huge asses you will find your paradise here.
But checking the Succubus and Incubus Slave Avatars by Niekra's Dreams we where both amazed. They come with skin, shape, wings, tails, horns and attire scripted and unscripted. We just added hair and used our own shapes.
Taken at Leroy |
According to folklore Succubus and Incubus are female and male demons or supernatural entities that appear in dreams and takes the form of a human in order to seduce, usually through sexual activity. Religious traditions hold that repeated sexual activity with them may result in the deterioration of health or even death...Well, at least we had a lot of fun ;)
Sexxx Sells is open until Febr. 1st.

Paper Observatory - Become a Movie Star at the Opening
It is amazing. While not every artist can match with his approach and convince with his builds during the 5 months of Land Grants the only 1 month of the Interim seems to bring out the best of many. Look around at LEA and enjoy the creativity.
Haveit Neox took the chance to build his Paper Observatory which will is a continuation of the Paper Tower at ACC Alpha , his home sim (which I highly recommend to visit too!). Haveit wrote: As the Paper Tower is dedicated to arts, the Observatory will be connected to science and therefore be a venue where one could gather information and get in touch with thought provoking theories...The lower levels of the build show people performing rituals, from a time when superstition defined the world: disease was the work of demons and the world was flat. Floating above this, is the Observatory which issued a new era of discovery: questioning by evidence.
Paper Tower at ACC Alpha |
I cannot agree with this point of view. To my opinion just the kind of superstition has changed. To believe that a scientific research mirrors reality is to me the modern superstition. But questioning is always good and I am sure it will be interesting.
Haveit plans to create a machinima at the opening event: Avatars will be orbiting the space around the Paper Observatory at the LEA21 sim. Will you be one of them? I am planning to film, no lag willing! If you would like to fly among the stars, please dress as a star, satellite, or sun, however you imagine them to be.
Sounds to be fun!
Opening and filming at Saturday, January 18th at 1 PM SLT

Morpheus
Today I found a French version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in Second Life. Osferatus Heaven built a beautiful place that reminded me of the alms in the Alpes. The cow is so cute to cuddle. But Osferatus' alt Osferatus Roussel built a dark space where nobody wants to live with a really bad guy.
The name Morpheus is the perfect match. According to Greek mythology Morpheus has the ability to take any human form and appear in dreams. So take your daily dose of dreams from this landing point:
