Large Variations of Art: Pirats

Pirats Art Network runs an entire sim with four galleries and constantly changing exhibitions. The charme of Pirats consists of the mixture of very different artists and styles. Famous and infamous are the openings with monster lag. Also yesterday the sim crashed. Today's visit was much more pleasant. And I think just at the moment the mixture is particularly interesting.

Josina Burgess' "Nothing Can Hurt You" touched my heart.

Maryva Mayo has implemented two images of the Cubist Auguste Herbin in 3D. It is amazing to experience the art so close and walk through it. Maryva has greatly implemented the specific colors of Herbin.

Vote for the winner of the year and win a prize

A Catharsis That You Will Love!

Blogger's life is sometimes hard. Last night 2AM German time was the premiere of Tyrehl Byk's show Catharsis and I could not resist to join it. The Europeans tried to stay awake with (as far as I know legal) drugs. And we have been amazingly gifted! Many amongst the audience said that this is the best show they ever have seen in Second Life. 

 For the best experience, wear low prim, unscripted clothes, detach all HUD’s and follow these advises:

1 - You must be seated in a chair to be able to properly view the event.

2 - Set: World > Environment Settings > Midnight

3 - Set Draw distance = 250 m

4 - Set Particles to maximum

5 - Please Disable voice

6 - Press ESC several times to release all camera controls.

7 - SEE ITEM 6!!! 

8 - Please disable any scripted devices you may have attached to your avatar to reduce lag.

5 Years of Growing Collections: Campus d'Art

How many institutions do you know who has been in Second Life for 5 years? Not much, I suppose. And for 5 years now, Cecilia Delacroix already committed to art in SL. Today the Campus d’Art consists of 20 museums with about 900 paintings, photography and 3D art.  The campus is nicely done with beautiful buildings, cafe, wine bar and a park to stroll and relax. The whole complex is so huge that it is impossible to see everything with one visit and leaves the same uncomfortable feeling as the Louvre, the Prado or Hermitage. Luckily travelling is easier in SL than rl and a second visit is possible.

At the landing point you should not miss the collection of contemporary glass art and the Sledge Roffo collection. You find here as well a large information board.

Today between 2-4 PM SLT celebrates the Campus d’Art it’s 5. birthday. It's worth a visit.

Not Only for Pink Floyd Fans: Secret Spheres

Beautiful places to relax combined with great music: That is Secret Spheres. 

The spheres are partly connected by tunnels, some can be reached by TP which are listed in the note card at the landing point and some you only may find by flying around. 

All spheres are named after songs from Pink Floyd songs and of course there is also music of Pink Floyd in the stream. A joy for the eyes and ears!

Dump of Second Life: Spencer Museum of Art

There are so many things built and bought in Second Life. Have you ever asked where actually all the old stuff remains? I found a dump with old chairs and other litter. Constantly are flying objects around.

 Great, that safety helmets are offered at the landing point although they look a bit strange. And I did not really get what the sheep flying around my head is for ;)

You can sit down on some chairs and fly into the air. I landed here in a chaotic system of pipes. Here are endless details to discover. Super builds, funny and worth a visit!

Halloween Night Mare: Mesh

Claudia222 Jewell is responsible for my nightmares in the halloween night. Visiting the 2nd last Avatar Games I was shocked when she suddenly appeared in my back.

To make it even worse, she gave me that flight object which immediately had a bite in my hand :(

CoMa's cute mesh centaur was way much nicer!

The LEA Avatar Games will come up on Sunday the 6th at 2 PM SLT the LAST TIME this season. Don't miss it!
